After struggling with the ongoing sequel that was released, finally Marvel released superhero movie that is fresh (after the Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014)

Synopsis:
Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is a thief. One day, he stole a suit from Hank Pym’s home (Michael Douglas) which can make him shrink like ants. Hank knows it, ask Scott for help to be Ant-Man to protecting Hank’s innovation from Darren Cross.

Initially I was a little hesitant with this superhero movie. Imagine, Iron Man can fire rockets, Thor can released lightning, but Ant-Man can. I do not have any expectations when going to watch this movie. Especially with the trailer that I think is quite ridiculous. With a body as small as ants, Ant-Man beat up ordinary people. In my opinion, Ant-Man is a superhero with the power that is quite ridiculous and far from the cool image of the members of the Avengers.

But this movie was very entertaining. Marvel as usual can present an exciting superhero action with a storyline that is mixed with comedy. The portion of comedy in this movie as much as the Guardian of the Galaxy. Humor in the film is mostly related to pop culture. Scott Lang as the character with the humor sense is similar to the Star Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy. They both have a eccentric character.

The typical Marvel films, of course there were clues related to other marvel movies like SHIELD, Hydra and the Avengers. The appearance of one of Marvel characters from other films (Spoiler Alert: The Falcon) make this film more exciting. Do not forget, there is a cameo of Stan Lee.
Paul Rudd who is famous in the comedy film plays a superhero with a soft side and is very fond of her daughter. Paul Rudd is the right choice because he can serve as a good father figure and a superhero with a sense of humor.

This is one film that I initially scoffed just by looking at the trailer, but after watching, I love it.

My Rating
72%
