Can you imagine your whole life is recorded and broadcasted in
worldwide? Unless you're The Kadarshians, you certainly will be very
uncomfortable
Synopsis: Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey), since birth, his life is recorded
by a hidden camera and became reality show called The Truman Show. Truman did
not know that his whole life just directed by a producer named Christof (Ed
Harris). The whole life of Truman was set up until one day Truman begins to
realize the strangeness in his life
Well, in fact today many examples of The Truman Show, one of them
is Keeping Up with The Kadarshians. Love it or hate it, many people watched it around
the world. Looks like today's reality show took the idea of this film. Wait,
why am I even discussing Kadarshian?
Okay, the idea itself is very unique. The concept of this story
was originally based on an episode of the TV series, The Twilight Zone and the
story is much darker than the film. My favorite scene is when `actors' The
Truman Show to promote a product as a sponsor. They clearly promote the product
into the camera without making Truman suspicious.
Jim Carrey as an actor and comedian insert many comedy elements
and physical gesture that became his trademark. He was able to portray Truman
who is innocent, naive and confused when he found shocking facts in his life.
It proves that Jim Carrey is not only an usual comedian but also a great actor.
The film received many awards and was nominated at the Academy
Awards and the Golden Globe. Jim Carrey and Ed Harris got the Best Actor and
Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globe.
